Posh Tag 4.5 Tog Summer Duvet — Lightweight & Cool

Our 4.5 tog summer duvet is the standard UK lightweight summer weight — cool and breathable for warm months, hot sleepers and heated bedrooms. Machine-washable hollowfibre fill, available in Single (135 × 200cm), Double (200 × 200cm), King (225 × 220cm) and Super King (260 × 220cm).

Who is a 4.5 tog duvet for?

Summer sleeping from roughly May to September, bedrooms that stay above ~20°C, hot sleepers year-round, memory foam mattress owners (foam retains heat), and children over 3 (lighter togs suit young children — never above 4 tog for toddlers).

Looking for a 1, 2 or 3 tog duvet?

Togs below 4.5 are uncommon and mainly made for babies' cot quilts and very hot climates. For UK summers, 4.5 tog is the standard lightweight choice — if you still overheat on 4.5, a breathable cotton cover and lighter nightwear make a bigger difference than a lower tog.

FAQs

Q: What tog duvet is best for summer?
A: 4.5 tog is the standard UK summer weight — light enough for warm nights while still feeling like a proper duvet.

Q: What is the lowest tog duvet?
A: Standard adult duvets start at 4.5 tog; lower togs (1–4) are niche or children's weights. If 4.5 still feels warm, choose a breathable cotton cover.

Q: Is 4.5 tog warm enough for spring?
A: In a heated bedroom, yes. For unheated rooms in spring and autumn, step up to our 7.5 or 10.5 tog.

Q: Can I wash this duvet at home?
A: Yes — hollowfibre washes at 40°C in a large-drum machine. Full steps in our Duvet Washing & Care Guide.

Two duvets beat one compromise

A 4.5 tog for summer plus a 13.5 tog for winter covers both extremes better than a single all-year duvet, and layering the two together gives you a third, warmer option. Add an extra deep 40cm fitted sheet and a pair of hotel pillows. Orders over £50 ship free, so bundling saves on delivery.
